Palatine Hill

At the birth of the Rome, the Palatine hill was famous for it was the place where Romulus and Remus were nursed by the she-wolf. It was also the place where Romulus began to build Rome and where Hercules and Cacus fought. At the height of the Roman Empire, the Palatine empire was famous for being the hill where the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, and the Forum were built. Many houses were also built on the Palatine Hill. This might have been for the richer citizens.
