Blog post for Thursday
While reading the elegy of Ovid i came across that the reading was the 3rd elegy, grief to more grief. Some examples of my conclusion of the reading are, In the beginning he starts out saying, " If Memmons mother, Achilles mother mourned and our sad fates can touch great goddesses"."2" " No less was Venus stunned by her Tibullus death, than when the fierce boar smote her lovers thigh."37" " Respect the gods. Grim death will drag you from their altars to your grave". 40" May your bones find repose within their sheltering urn, and may earth lie heavy on you ashes".67 These are my examples through the excerpt and even reading more and more I think it is grief to more grief.
